Brian Eno - Long Now

Brian Eno - Long Now
Aa rare promotional CD once offered to wine sellers (!). It features five unreleased tracks, in the same mood as his 2003 album, "Bell Studies for the Clock of the Long Now": compositions that experiment possible melodies and atmospheres for bell towers. Relying on  digital bell sounds, processed through various reverbs and delays, these compositions create strange and hypnotic soundscapes with cycles of repetition ruled by mathematical laws.

Brian Eno says, "The experiments sometimes try to simulate existing bells, and imagine different sorts of bells, bells which may indeed be physically unmakeable."

Cluster - Grosses Wasser

Cluster - Grosses Wasser

The diversity of styles on the various Cluster albums, with significant changes in musical direction from one release to the next, makes it difficult to categorize Cluster's music. The factors which are present on all 13 albums include the use of electronic instrumentation, loops, and the use of unexpected sounds to create a sense of experimentation.

Grosses Wasser is the seventh album by the electronic music outfit Cluster. It was co-produced by former Tangerine Dream member Peter Baumann. Grosses Wasser marked the return to Cluster working as a duo of Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius after two albums collaborating with Brian Eno.

This Kind of Punishment
Interesting 80's New Zealand band. Sound, voice and atmosphere sometimes reminds on Camberwell Now, except here aren't any drums really. Mostly keyboards, piano, and guitar recorded on a borrowed 4-track recorder, first released in an edition of 1000 in 1983. A much sought after collector's item until its CD re-release.

The Nits - Omsk

The Nits - Omsk
Founded in 1974, Dutch band the Nits released 24 Albums to date. Their musical style varied considerably over the years. Omsk is strangely regarded as their 'New Wave' album which is, with the exception of 'Unpleasant Surprise', the wrong tag. It's simply a pop album.
This re-release contains 3 additional tracks.

Tim Story & HJ Roedelius - Lunz
Hans Joachim Roedelius was a founding member of the German electronic band Cluster in the early 1970s. He's also produced some (70+) solo albums ranging from refined chamber music to unmitigated experiments. Tim Story is a disciple of Roedelius who has forged his own ambient chamber sound for two decades.
It's a sensual, liquid sound that merges classical influences along with electronic ambiences and a gift for melody that would leave Erik Satie crying. The mix of acoustic piano, cello, and an original electronic palette adds both atmosphere and edge, giving Lunz an emotional resonance that runs deep.

Fripp & Eno - (No Pussyfooting)
Released in the same year as Eno's more rock-based solo album Here Come the Warm Jets it received negative reaction from their record label, Island Records, who were actively opposed to it.
Eno was attempting to launch a solo career, having just left Roxy Music, and his management bemoaned the confusion caused by the release of two albums with such different styles.
Fripp's bandmates in King Crimson also disliked the album. Mainstream rock press also didn't pay much attention to the album compared to Fripp's work with King Crimson, or Eno's solo albums.
In the UK, the album was released at a large discount compared to normal album prices and was regarded as something of a musical aside.
